All biopharma roads begin with eco-design — how can you get started?

Ryan Walker, Senior Director of Sustainability, Cytiva

With the precision that reveals his past serving in the US Marine Corps, Ryan Walker leads the Sustainability Program at Cytiva in delivering on increasingly challenging targets. Walker has worked in the life sciences industry for 17 years in roles ranging from commercial sales to channel leader. Since 2020, he has been devoted to the company’s ambition to improve how it designs sustainability in at every aspect of the business.

Walker is a continuous learner, and while shy to admit success, he’s particularly proud of helping scientists in developing nations get access to Cytiva equipment. He also enjoys engaging associates in a program that crowdsources ideas to build out sustainable ways of doing business.

Aude Arkam, Head of Eco Design & Circular Economy, Sanofi

Since 2022, Aude Arkam has been the Head of Eco-design and Circular Economy at Sanofi. Her energy and passion to reduce the environmental footprint of the healthcare sector is constantly pushing her to exchange ideas with peers to implement innovative and sustainable strategies.

Arkam joined Sanofi in 2016 to orchestrate the integration of a recently acquired business. She held various global leadership positions in supply chain. Prior to Sanofi, Arkam was the executive director of an non-governmental organization (NGO) giving medical treatment to 200 children with cerebral palsy and scarce resources in Mexico. Aude also spent 10 years in a consulting firm focused on strategy and development projects.
